Between Us!
Meeting people from different walks of life and interacting with them has always been an enriching experience. But these days even casual interactions are seldom free from the stresses from which every one seems to be suffering. Be it an office, club or restaurant or a family gathering, the stresses of change appear to be affecting everyone.
Our small community too is imbued with this malady. The changes around us are overwhelming us. Many a times we find ourselves unable to formulate a proper response to them. While we feel totally lost, we allow situations to drift to our disadvantage.
A good many members of the community have been stressing time and again the importance of getting organized to be able to face the situation together. Quite a number of efforts to organize the community on conventional lines initiated in the past are continuing to this day and benefiting the community in different ways. Many new initiatives are being made besides a few in the offing. At many places community members are trying to come together to organize at local level. One may be reluctant to call their successes as spectacular but it is to their credit that they are contributing significantly to add comfort to the community in ample measure even though their area of influence is small.
But when viewed in the backdrop of the global scenario these efforts somehow appear to be inadequate, feeble, far in between, ineffective and short of expectations. The community’s need to progress require more concerted and organized efforts to be made on every front so that each and every segment of the community gets strengthened, be it students, unemployed or underemployed youths, ladies, seniors or destitute in need of support and rehabilitation.
From the foregoing it is quite apparent that the task of organizing the community support network to yield better results is onerous and time consuming. Not only this, it does not end up here. In fact it is a never ending task. The newer generation needs to be sensitized as to the value system prevailing in the community, made aware of the traditions, and inspired to adhere to the value system and promote and propagate the samskars which have remained so dear to the hearts of the elders of community and due to which the community today stakes the claim for a proud place in the history of India.
The one and foremost pre-requisite to achieve any success in organizing the community on sound lines is coming together of all the members of the community to be able to pull the act together. No doubt we are already trying to do it at our ends, but we need to create a network where more and increasing members of the community can log in comfortably and enter into dialogue for debating any issue of importance.
Fortunately for us, the advancement of the internet technology has given us an opportunity to forge a new kind of virtual togetherness which otherwise is not possible. The internet has made possible online networking which makes the virtual get-together of the members of the community a reality even while they remain separated by formidable geographical distances. This way we can expect to bring a sizeable number of community members within the range of communication. Once this is done with reasonable success one can hope that this virtual togetherness will make it easy to bring some semblance of organization within the community. Then and then only it will become possible to bring the drifting community to rejoice together in times of glory and stand firm on our feet together in times of adversity, a coveted goal worth achieving.
The community website: www.bhatnagars-worldwide.com and this Newsletter are efforts in this direction. Your active participation in the goings on and enthusiastic cooperation are all that is required to make them effective instruments for ‘fostering community online for progress’ in this transitory era of fast and furious changes that are taking place all around us.
We at the website extend our cooperation to all those members of the community and the community support groups who are devotedly engaged in the uphill task of serving the community in their respective roles for long and wish them success in their endeavors. We stand committed to work with any and all of them to achieve the end objective. Thanks.
