Why does the Community Need to Organize?
|
| I have invariably observed that whenever and wherever two or more elders of the community gather together their talk almost always centres on the need to organize the community to take care of the problems being faced by the community members. Most of the time their arguments converge only up to this point, after which they digress to various points of views hardly agreeing on to a single thought. I have no doubt in my mind that a large number of members of the community nurture the feeling that there is a dire need to organize, but no one appears to be sure about the purpose for which the community needs to organize and how to organize to be able to serve the purpose. If anybody does, he or she needs to come out openly and express his or her mind to provide food for thought to the larger community. This is important because unless and until we become clear in our minds about the objectives we want to achieve by organizing ourselves, no effort howsoever sincerely made, can succeed even partially. Therefore the first prerequisite for getting into the mode of organizing the community entails that we become amply clear about the objectives. Then only we can think of the methodology of organizing ourselves. The purpose for which we want to organize has to be clarified first and foremost. It would therefore be good if the members of the community come forward and ponder on every aspect of the need to organize, its objective and purpose and the shape the organizing effort should take including the steps involved. I think this is the first step we should take before we undertake steps to organize ourselves and our community. What do you say we should do? |

We need to define what is our community. Is it a communiy of retired persons? is it a Kayashta or Bhatnagar community?Or the most important in the context of perioic islamic terrorits attacks, Hindu communiyt?Let me tell you that President Obama started his public life as a community organiser in Chicago in1990.
